Language: Must be able to read, write and speak the English language fluently.

Interpretive Skills: Must be able to read, analyze and interpret common reports.

Grammar: Must be able to author and/or review, and grammatically correct curriculum documentation. Must be able to clearly communicate ideas and information to trainees.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. The position's supervisor will review equivalency requirements to determine if an applicant's education and previous work experience will satisfy the educational requirements of the position.

Computer Capability: Must be able to use a personal computer. Must know how to use the following software:

  • Word - word processing
  • Excel - spreadsheet
  • Outlook - email
  • PowerPoint - presentations

Work Experience: Must have a minimum of three years' experience in oil and gas related industry with upstream in drilling and/or workover operations experience. Must have related oil and gas experience to be certified by both IADC and/or IWCF requirements for corresponding course.

Physical capabilities: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.


Environment: The Instructor works in an office/conference/classroom environment.

Travel: May travel to locations as requested by client.

Availability: The Instructor normally works weekdays. Some weekends or extended hours may as required. This position is equipped with cell phone and portable computer to allow the servicing of internal and external customers whenever the need arises.


Teach IADC and/or IWCF well control classes as necessary in permanent schools or organized traveling locations, domestic or international and conduct or assist in simulation exercises or assessments as required by regulatory requirements.

Meet training and accreditation requirements.

Contribute to curriculum and classroom procedure as requested.

Prepares training records for submission to WCS administrative office.

Completes After Action Review (AAR) of class taught.

Promotes and abides by all Safety policies and procedures.

Maintains safety training at 90% with a goal of 100%.

Maintaining a safe driving record and avoiding any at-fault or preventable accidents.

Promote and participates in company's Quality Management System certified to ISO 9001. This is evidenced by following WCS's quality policies, procedures and work instructions.

Provide and maintain a work environment that encourages open and free communication and participation from all employees. This is evidenced by adhering to RPC's Code of Business Conduct and enforcing its guidelines company-wide.

Performs Other Assigned Duties As Required.
